Project Runway Threads

Project Runway: Threads

Far from Child's Play
When he was just 12 years old, Lucas was selected to appear on “Project Runway: Threads,” a spin-off series based on “Project Runway” that featured skilled teen and tween fashion designers.

There, he had the great fortune of making two life-long friends in his fellow contestants, Ciara and Kiera. Their episode entitled “Monster Mash Up” challenged contestants to create a look using two monsters mashed together as their inspiration. As if that wasn’t challenging enough for the junior designers, host Vanessa Simmons gave them a surprise twist midway through – their designs must be created using unconventional materials, which, in this case, was candy!

Grateful
While the outcome wasn’t what he hoped, Lucas was grateful for the opportunity to work with a prestigious panel of judges that included “Project Runway” winner, designer Christian Siraino, senior fashion editor for Seventeen magazine Jasmine Snow and YouTube vlogger, Missglamorazzi herself, Ingrid Nilsen. “Project Runway: Threads" set the stage for what was to come next … “Project Runway: Junior.”
